Blokes (Boys Mentoring Programs) are small group programs that address some of the issues young men face in today’s culture. The programs have been run during health periods in state and private schools, and as a lunchtime or afterschool program for select groups of students. They are designed for Year 7-9 students, but have been adapted for younger and older children.
Blokes programs use a combination of fun activities, discussion and teaching to challenge and mentor students, and help them develop new life skills. The sessions focus on issues like conflict resolution, identity, relationships, social justice, decision making and self-esteem.
