Camping Internships

Do you love spending time with kids and building relationships with them?
If so, a camping internship could be for you!

Camping Stream Internships

Working with young people in temporary community you will travel to amazing places. As a Camping intern you will explore the unique opportunities camps and adventure based activities offer to impact the spiritual journey of young people. You will also gain skills and lead groups in a wide range of activities including white water rafting, caving, abseiling, hiking and camping. This stream also offers the potential for further study, culminating in a Cert III in Outdoor Recreation.

Internships can be from 6 months to 12 months, part-time or full-time, or in partnership with your church. You have the option of completing a Cert III in Outdoor Recreation or a Cert IV in Christian Ministry alongside your internship.

Qualifications and Skills that can be attained:

 Learn skills in engaging young people in discussing the gospel and sharing their faith.
 Develop leadership skills
 Senior 1st Aid, Bronze Medallion, SU White Water Rescue
 Attain specific outdoor activity skills in order to run activities safely, e.g. navigation training, and how to teach skills e.g paddle strokes in canoeing.
 Collaborate with team members and school staff.
 Plan activities to engage all participants.
 Apply risk management procedures to run safe activities

Outdoor Instructor Qualifications

You have the option alongside your internship to attain recognised outdoor qualifications at an extra cost. You may choose to complete training courses in:
 Abseiling
 Canoeing
 White Water Rafting
 Wilderness First Aid

All courses are run by outside training providers.
