A super exciting opportunity exists to join the SU staff team and help coordinate and facilitate the Reel Change ministry.
Reel Change is SU’s still new video-based ministry telling the stories of everyday Australians journeying with Jesus to broaden and challenge teen’s perceptions and ideas of God. Reel Change teams show the films in schools and youth groups and facilitate discussion about issues commonly faced by Australian young people, such as mental health, relationship breakdown, grief, loss, disappointment and failure and looks at who God was during those times and how he made a difference.
We are looking for a part-time (maternity leave) Coordinator who will oversee the running of the program with the support of a Schools Liaison Worker who organises volunteers and school bookings. This role would suit someone who has a creative vision, who loves building relationships and who is passionate about the value of storytelling. Perfect for someone who has experience or interest in film but not essential.
We also need Casual Facilitators to present and run the program in schools. The role is perfect for someone who communicates easily in front of medium to large groups of high school students and requires confidence in public speaking and guiding a group of students towards being open to discussion.
Do you love working with video media and would love to help reach young people with that passion? Do you love working with young people and have time to go into schools?
If you want to explore these exciting opportunities, express your interest with Laura on firstname.lastname@example.org or 08 9371 9100.
Jump on board and help share the love of Jesus with SU.

Chaplaincy Expressions of Interest
SU’s heart is that being a school chaplaincy provider will open up and enable ministry opportunities with Western Australian young people. SU already desires to do its activities in partnership with local churches, supporting and strengthening their ministry and mission. This approach we will take to chaplaincy as a grass-roots partnership and opportunity for churches to connect with and grow their local communities.
Here lies the exciting opportunity. There is an opportunity for SU people to get trained and step into school chaplaincy roles. Also, we want to discuss your heart for your local community and how SU, through chaplaincy and our other camping, missions and school activities, can help you do it. We envisage this to be a partnership – with you and with local churches.
