A Summer of Camps: Safe Spaces on SU Holiday Camps

As a young person, were you always asking big questions? Trying to understand God and how He fits in the world?

SU camps always create safe spaces for young people to discover and explore God and faith in ways that show love and acceptance. Recently a camp held a ‘panel’ where leaders would answer questions that campers had anonymously submitted throughout the day:

Is it wrong to feel angry and disappointed in yourself?
Will someone go to hell if they commit suicide?
Is it wrong to feel guilty if someone is worried about you?

These questions were asked and responded to in a way that stretched campers (and leaders) in a supportive environment, offering them personal and spiritual challenge, reinforced by relationships built by the leaders.

What a wonderful way for young people to find their place in God’s creation and amongst His people.
