Director’s Desk: A Note From the Director

Spring is in the air. The temperature is warmer, the footy has finished and at SU WA, the focus is shifting to summer ministry. Once again, hundreds of you will head all over WA to serve God and share the hope and good news of Jesus with young Western Australians. This summer we will again fill WA with fun, friendship, fellowship and faith!

As preparations get underway I hear leaders planning camps and missions where Jesus is modelled in community life, where participants have loads of fun and meet friends and God and where opportunities to speak, share and ask questions about Jesus lead to faith decisions: join me in praying for a powerful summer of God working. Whether out in the field this summer, supporting the work financially or praying fervently, we all play a vital part. Thanks!

Our recent SU at the Beach was great fun and we had a wonderful celebration of 150 years of SU ministry across the world. Check out the drone-assisted photo recreation of the first beach mission!

We also celebrated a new website for the movement, God’s provision of resources, and a resilient, courageous staff team.

People gave generously to our End of Financial Year plea for funds – thank you so much to those who gave. We are not entirely through the financial challenges though, with some cost cutting to occur and a further reduction in tax deductibility for giving likely. But I am confident that God “knows the plans he has for us – to prosper not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29).

It is a privilege to serve the movement in this role. May you know the joy & celebration of Jesus this Christmas and summer.
